Ski Week

This past week, from two Saturdays ago to last Saturday, Rotary had a ski week for all us exchange students, now including the new batch of students from the southern hemisphere that start their school at the opposite time as us. They're really cool and I'm glad they got to come!
Everyone got to pick whether they wanted to ski or snowboard and I picked skiing. I'd never skied before so I was in the beginner group, with everyone else who had never skied before. We all took private lessons and by the end of the week, we could ski really good!
On Wednesday afternoon, they took us sledding, two people per sled, and it became a huge competition! I was with Sofie (this gorgeous girl from Sweeden) and we kicked some butt if I do say so myself. We made a great team!
Getting to learn to ski in the Alps with breathtaking views, bonding with the newbies, and experiencing the wonders of just how painful ski shoes can be, all made for a wonderful week. I"m so glad I got to go, and to be here in Austria with all these amazing people.
