Happy Easter Everyone!

The other day I had the honor of being invited to paint Easter eggs with some really nice Rotarians, and the other exchange student in my club, Lucho, from Argentina.
When they told me we were going to be decorating Easter eggs, I assumed it would be just like back in the US where you just dye them. But instead, Lucho and I were introduced to a very complex method of decorating Easter eggs. It involved melting old candle wax and using utensils of varying widths to draw on the wax. After you did this you dyed your egg for a bit in some light colors, just like back home, then you pulled it out again and used more wax to add to the design. Then, you dipped it in the colors again, over and over again until you achieved a really complicated, beautiful piece of artwork, that I'm really sad to have to eat when Easter comes.
The lady who taught us had been doing it all her life, and had learned it from her mother. She was really professional and made my attempts pretty humorous. Nevertheless, it was SO fun, and I'm really glad I got the opportunity to do this. I hope to continue the tradition back home with my family!

Here are a couple pictures of my feeble attempts:

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter!
